Thought for the day 9 January

Sixty years ago, John F Kennedy famously said in his inauguration speech as president of the United States, ‘ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.’ Maybe we can adapt that sentiment at this time, to think not of what others can do for us at this time (phoning, writing, making sure we are OK) but what we can do for them (phoning, writing, making sure that they are OK)

Lord, in these hard times it is so easy to focus on our own problems. Help us to see beyond them, to other people in need, and to see what we can do to help them

PS Next week we’ll our seasonal weather behind and have some pictures of animals
